What is the Nefertiti Neck Lift?

The Nefertiti Neck Lift is a non-surgical procedure designed to redefine the jawline and provide a lift to the neck area, creating a more youthful, contoured look. This treatment is named after the ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, who was renowned for her elegant, graceful neck and sharp jawline.

The procedure uses a series of small injections of botulinum toxin into the platysma muscles in the neck. The platysma muscles are thin, vertical bands that can become prominent as we age, pulling down on the neck. By temporarily relaxing these muscles, the treatment reduces their downward pull on the face. This allows the muscles that lift the face to work more effectively, which partially tightens and lifts the skin of the neck.

Frequently Asked Questions

To promote healing and reduce risks of complications; avoid the following for at least 24 hours before your procedure.

  • Avoid smoking and alcohol for at least 24 hours before
  • Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen or herbal treatments as may increase bruising
  • Arrive with a clean face, free from makeup or skincare products
  • Avoid hair removal on treatment areas
  • Avoid using strong skincare products (topical retinoid, steroid and glycolic acid) for at least 1 week before your treatment

Discomfort is usually minimal. A very fine needle is used for the injections, and we use a topical numbing cream to ensure you are comfortable.

The procedure itself only takes about 25 minutes, but the entire consultation can last up to 60 minutes. During this time, we will discuss all your options and create a customized plan just for you.

Allow up to 2 weeks for the maximum effect of the injections.

The effects are temporary, typically lasting between 3 to 6 months. To maintain the results, follow-up treatments are recommended. Over time, as the muscle becomes less active, you may find that the results last longer between sessions.

Common side effects are mild and short-lived. These may include slight redness, swelling, small bumps at the injection sites and bruising.

Ideal candidates are those with a mild-to-moderate loss of definition in their jawline, those with visible neck bands, and those who are looking for a subtle, non-surgical alternative to a facelift. It is not a suitable treatment for individuals with a significant amount of loose skin or fat in the neck area.

To reduce swelling, bruising and for optimal results, avoid the following for the first 24 hours after treatment:

  • Makeup to treated area(s),
  • UV exposure, extreme temperatures (like saunas and hot showers),
  • Strenuous activity, exercise or swimming
  • Alcohol and smoking
  • Touching/rubbing the treated area (including pressure from clothing/accessories).
  • Avoid facial treatments/ massages for 2 weeks

You will receive detailed aftercare advice and a leaflet following your treatment. If you have any questions, contact the clinic for further guidance.
